My name is Petra Christina Martin. I was born in Wetzlar, Germany, have three children and have been a member of the Hamburg Community for over ten years.

I served as a high school teacher, teaching all levels of German for Muhlenberg School District. I retired in June of 2015 and am now able to give my time to my other passion…the Arts!

I do photography, writing and fiber arts, specialing now in art quilting, from wall hangings to ornaments and valentines. Fiber inspires me with the energy that comes from color, as well as the invitation to touch the product.

My background in sewing was traditional quilting and I have made quilts for my family members in the past and may continue in this as well. Color, contrast, creativity…these three “Cs” have become a new mantra for me.

I am a new member to the Arts Alliance, and serve on the Board of the Berks Performing Arts School due to open in the fall of 2016. I hope to display my work in both places!
