Local artist, Wade Phillips, began painting around the age of 11. Now 17, Wade held his first art show spring of 2007 at the American House Hotel in Hamburg. He was invited back for an encore presentation of his paintings on October 5th, the final date of Hamburg’s 1st Art Stroll Series.
Wade is becoming well known to the area, having been featured in articles in the Hamburg Item and the Pottsville Republican on more than one occasion. He has been recognized for having his very first numbered print at the age of 15, a work entitled “Nana’s Garden.”
Wade was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, a high functioning form of Autism at the age of 3 ½. His other special interests include classic movies from the 30’s to the early 80’s. He lives with his parents and sister in Shartlesville.
